About Peter

Peter Heyne, a Houston-based freelance writer, has always been a hopeless romantic. He kissed his first grade sweetheart under an acorn tree in Virginia long ago, and decided then and there that girls rocked. He has had his ups and downs in the romance department and year after year continues his search for a lifetime mate. Trouble is, it’s taking him a lifetime to find her.

Peter Heyne
Peter Heyne seeks to help men better understand the thinking, motivations, and expectations of women.

As a writer, Peter’s chief skill is making complex information perfectly clear. Writing a book for men that explains the mysteries of women is a natural extension of his craft and decades of dating.

Peter has specialized in writing annual reports, marketing brochures, case studies and Web sites for nearly 25 years. He has written for national and international publications and for a wide range of business clients. His work has appeared in Time/Life books, college textbooks, and national business and trade publications. A graduate in journalism from the University of Texas, Peter sharpened his writing skills as a reporter for the Houston Chronicle, a speech writer in the U.S. Navy, and as Houston Bureau Chief for Fairchild Publications. At Fairchild, his articles were featured in Women’s Wear Daily and six other national trade periodicals. Later, as a freelance writer, his articles ran in BusinessWeek, Fortune (ad supplements on Houston), the International Herald Tribune and the Financial Times of London. Peter subsequently began to write for design firms and businesses, helping them communicate more clearly about products, services, and corporate growth. He is an active member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the Houston Art Directors Club.

Peter is also gentleman rancher and raises corn, cotton, and cattle at his spread near Glen Flora, Texas, about an hour’s drive southwest of Houston.
